Your TEAM LEADERS 2018-19
We
start with the CLUB LEADER.....
your PRESIDENT - PETER
Why
get involved with the Swimming Club? .....
"To
create the opportunity for my family and others to get the enjoyment out of
swimming that I do. The contribution that volunteers make to our Club is
crucial and the role we have to play within our community valuable. I just want
to help and understand the responsibility extends to being a positive role
model.
Swimming
for me started as a learner, squad member, club member, competitor, water polo
rep and keen surfer. In more recent decades it has evolved to triathlon and
open water swimming. The one thing that hasn’t changed is the enjoyment
swimming provides.
I work for Nestle in the role of Operations
Performance, contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing
through the strategic development of people, processes and technologies."
............................ VICE
PRESIDENT - GARY
I
started in the club after a Bunnings sausage sizzle about this time last year.
I
originated from the Northern Beaches area of Sydney.
I've
lived in many different places between NSW & Qld but I feel I have finally
found home.
I
hope you really enjoy the events of a Tuesday night.
See
you at the pool.
.......................... SECRETARY

I
joined the club as a swimmer more than 45 years ago and still enjoy
being part of a fun, healthy activity that the whole family can be involved in.

children who live and work away from Kempsey.
............................ TREASURER
– MARGARET
My
passion is to assist children and adults to become competent swimmers so that
they can enjoy all types of water activities. I feel that being a Kempsey
Swimming Club Committee Member helps me to do this.
I
have been a 'water' person all my life. From a toddler in the creek at Crescent
Head I progressed through representing the Kempsey Swimming Club at Country
Championship level and the Kempsey High School at Combined High Schools, to
instructing children and adults in learn-to-swim campaigns, synchronised
swimming, Kempsey Swimming Club administration and the Optus Jnr. Dophin program
since it commenced.
I was elected a Life Member of the
Kempsey Swimming Club in 1968.
I
have been competing with Australian Masters Swimming for the past few years at
National and Pan Pac level.
..............................
RACE SECRETARY – CHRIS
I joined the committee
to help with the day to day activities to see our club nights continue to
achieve the level it has been running at and to grow into the future for not
only my own children as well as all our wonderful competitors that grow from
strength to strength .
I hope I meet all your
expectations as I grow and continue to learn my position ready for another
great season.
.............................. MEMBERSHIP REGISTRAR - LEAH
Joined
the committee because I don't want to see our club forced to cease. I was
a member of this club as a child, into my teens, and I want me kids to be able
to experience the challenge, friendship, support and fun that I was lucky
enough to enjoy. Swimming is a vital skill for all children and the more
children we can have join our club to further their swimming, the safer our
children will be.
This
is my second year on the committee, and the 3rd as a mother of children
competing with the club - it's a great club, with friendly, happy members and
young adults proving themselves not only as competitive swimmers but also as
wonderful role models to the younger members. I'm proud to be a part of
it!
........................ MEMBER
PROTECTION INFORMATION OFFICER – NIKKI
………………. COMMITTEE MEMBER - SIMONE
I moved
to Kempsey from Cronulla 15 years ago. My husband Steve and I have three boys,
twin 13 year olds and a 10 year old.
I am a
HR Manager for a local company. My boys are involved in many of the various
sporting and musical opportunities that Kempsey offers. As such, I am
actively involved with many clubs in Kempsey.
My son
Max trains with Huddo and swims competitively throughout the year.
I spend
a lot of time poolside and hope to bring some insight to my position as a
member of the committee for Kempsey Swim Club.
........................ COMMITTEE
MEMBER – CECIL
I joined the club as a child in the late seventies for a few
years. After encouraging my children to
join the club I started to help out on club nights.
I have worked in many capacities around the pool, Timekeeping, Marshallng,
Starting, on the BBQ, whatever was needed.
Since becoming part of the administration team I have been elected as
President, Vice-President and, with the “on-call” nature of my work I am now
enjoying being part of the General Committee again.
I particularly enjoy working on the club’s major fundraiser, the
BBQ, where I get to see the many happy families that make up our great club.
